Summer Prep Starts Now

It’s the end of February and you’ve either been 100% on it, sticking to your New Year’s Resolutions, or you’re still yet to begin and waiting for the warmer months to get started. But you can’t keep waiting, and waiting until it’s too late and by that time it’s your summer holiday and you’ve made no progress. If you want to get results and maintain them then it takes time, if you lose weight quickly, chances are that you’ll put it straight back on, so here are some reasons why you should start now…
If you can do it now, you can do it anytime
There is nothing worse than going to the gym on a dark winter’s morning, or heading out for that run on a bitter, icy evening, but this will always be the hardest part. If you have the will power to do this a few times a week then getting out and exercising when it’s warmer will be a breeze. If you can begin now then it’ll become a habit by spring and it won’t seem like a chore.
It’ll come round quickly
Yeah, sure your holiday isn’t until the 27th of June so you’ve got ages to get to your ideal weight, but have you considered all of the events in-between? What about your birthday? When you’ll be eating a massive cake and plenty of alcohol, or that Hen weekend where you’ll surely be doubling your calorie intake. And don’t forget you’ve got Easter in-between, with plenty of chocolate and roast dinners. There are so many events in our lives that can put a holt to our healthy regime and if you plan in advance you’ll soon realise that in reality you don’t have as much time as you thought to hit those goals. Therefore, if you start earlier then you’ve got time to factor these events in and still have time to see results.
Your body should be healthy all year round
Of course there are points in the year when we tend to be a little looser with our diet and exercise regime, for example Christmas and on holidays, but the rest of the year you should be looking after your body. Getting fit just for summer means that it’s going to be much harder to motivate yourself to lose weight if you’ve been off the wagon for a while. If you’re maintaining a good weight throughout the year and only have a little to lose before your holidays things are much easier. Plus, your body is your home, you need to look after it.
